Image: Still holding Nappa's tail, Piccolo recoils from Nappa's strike      Piccolo has devised a plan to grab onto Nappa's tail, a Saiyan's only weak spot. As Kuririn distracts him, Piccolo slips around and grabs him from behind. However, Nappa had specially conditioned his tail, and as a result it is Piccolo who falls! Nappa also manages to dodge Kuririn's new technique, Kienzan, a cutting disc made of energy. Yet through the encompassing atmosphere of peril, the Z Fighters begin to sense the approach of Goku's Ki.

Image: Piccolo shileds Gohan from Nappa's blast      Worrying over Goku's power level as registered in his Scouter, Vegeta orders Nappa to dispose of the other three warriors immediately. Nappa reminds Vegeta that they need the Namekian alive to get information about the Dragonballs. Vegeta tells him not to bother — if Kakarrot really has returned from the dead, then the legend of the Namekian wish-granting dragon is true, and they can always travel to the planet Namek itself to get their wish granted. Gohan launches a desperate, all-out assault on Nappa. This just makes Nappa even more angry, and he launches a tremendous energy blast at Gohan. Piccolo then throws his body between the blast and Gohan, shielding him!
